  • This is the worst thing ever.
  • People speak of bygone days and lost values a lot and usually I think that way of thinking is wrongheaded. Let's look forward, not backward. But I'm beginning to wonder if it's at all possible to recapture some of the respect with which we treated certain subjects. Maybe it's better for people to settle down about dating and relationships and not make a giant, shallow show out of life. Life might even have a little meaning, perhaps even a bit of dignity if we all rejected this sort of nonsense from our culture.
  • On the other hand, other parts of TV have become great. For much of its history, television had much lower status than film, and for good reason. Nowadays though, we have really high-quality shows that rival film, like The Wire, the Sopranos, House, 24, etc.
